Schoolhouse Analytics

Alex Seeskin

I run Schoolhouse Analytics, where I work with districts and networks on on-track and early warning data, and plan and facilitate school visits for networks, funders, and other organizations. I also curate The School Visit List, a public directory of school visits anyone can register for.

Before starting Schoolhouse Analytics, I founded and led the University of Chicago’s To&Through Project, which helps educators use research and data to move more students to and through high school and college. There I co-authored research reports, led the design of data tools including the To&Through Milestones Tool, built the organization’s professional learning work, and launched the Middle Grades Network, where I conceived and designed the school visits at the center of the network. The project’s work played a central role in improving high school and college outcomes in Chicago.

I started out teaching high school English in Chicago, for eight years, and was a National Board Certified teacher. I have a doctorate in education leadership from Harvard and a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern.

I live with my wife and two children in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and teach social entrepreneurship at UNC Chapel Hill.
