Visits: See practice in action.
A visit puts your group in classrooms and in the room with the educators who built the work, including what went wrong along the way. I plan and facilitate visits for organizations that want one and don’t have the capacity to run it themselves.
Planning and facilitating school visits has been a through line in my work for the past decade.
Who I work with
Networks of schools. Districts and charter networks. Funders and their grantee cohorts. Conference organizers adding a school visit to an event.
What I do
Some organizations have a host lined up and a team ready to go, and need someone to design the day and run it. Some have designed it themselves and need the logistics handled. Some want the whole thing built from the first call to the debrief. I can take on one piece or all three.
Design
Goals, audience, agenda, host preparation, observation and reflection protocols, and the debrief. Done remotely, with you and the host.
Facilitation
On site, running the visit: framing the day, keeping the group in observation mode, and leading the reflection and debrief.
Logistics
Travel, lodging, transportation, meals, and coordination with the host school or district, so your team shows up and the day works.
The School Visit List
I also curate The School Visit List, a public directory of school visits anyone can register for.
